Check to make sure there is proper electrical service to your irrigation timer. If you question whether the outlet is a working outlet or not get a small appliance that you know is operable and plug it into the electrical outlet that operates your irrigation timer. If the appliance does not run then you have an electrical issue and will need to call a licensed electrical contractor to make the repair.
If the outlet does work but the display of your irrigation timer still will not work then perhaps you need to replace the face plate. Replacing the face plate of the timer is much less expensive then replacing the entire controller.
